For the fifth year in a row, famed VV champion Percy has taken 1st place in the annual Survival of the Foodiest competition held in Entreepolis! The winner of the competition receives the golden mandolin trophy, a cash prize, and personal training under one of the high chefs of Julius Academy. When asked for a comment, Percy said, “Why would you expect anything else? I live for this sport. Anyone who challenges me should be prepared to eat their words.”
The mononymous Percy is a high-ranking student at Julius Academy who’s about as mysterious as their name! Not much is known about them, other than the fact that they mysteriously appeared as a powerhouse for the fifty-fifth Survival of the Foodiest and wowed the judges with their unorthodox cooking techniques. Since then, they have denied all requests for interviews or comments, but we imagine Percy is training every day in preparation for next year’s tournament.
The Survival of the Foodiest, hosted by Julius Academy, is an annual competition held during the harvest season for foodmancers of any skill level. Alongside the “Main Course” championship bracket, the competition has created the “Appetizer League” and “Showcase League.’ The Appetizer League is for competitors who wish to compete at a lower skill level, and Showcase League is a bracketless format where competitors show off their best creations from their specialization within the field of foodmancy.
For fifty-nine years now, the Survival of the Foodiest has been the hallmark of Julius Academy. This competition brings both students and pro-chefs alike from all around the country to fight for the legendary golden mandolin. This trophy automatically elevates the ranking of any restaurant that can proudly display one, and those without a restaurant can store them at the academy until they rightfully come back to retrieve it. Alongside the notoriety, winners can choose a high-chef, the overseers of the curricula at the academy, for a six-month mentorship program where not only will the high chef impart secret knowledge, but they will research new dishes and strategies together to further their specialization.
